You know that feeling you get when you’re so cold the slightest touch hurts? Well that’s what this photograph and the shoot that accompanied it encompasses. Was the model and I’s first time venturing out into the cold during this weird freak storm. We both knew what we were getting into, but then again we really didn’t. It was cold. It was difficult. It was just down right terrible. The look on the models face in the photograph says it all. The life has been sucked out of her and she’s just there to be there. This photoshoot pushed us both to the edge and it was just unbearable. All of those relaxing photographs you see of women in the snow are NOT like that at all. Honestly, I’m glad the photographs from this set came out so “real.” I feel like the set of photographs that i’ll post on here will illustrate just how “not fun” it is to photograph in the snow haha. Granted I love the images we captured, but never again. Not putting myself or any of my friends through that hell ever again! Bring on the 90+ degree weather where me and my friends suffer through literal blood, sweat, and tears :P

mmpblog asked: I love your work. It has so much depth and feeling. So respectful, loving and nurturing. I was wondering what's in your camera bag? Do you shoot with film?

I ALWAYS shoot with film my good sir :) and I usually shoot any medium format camera i can get my hands on BUT a little back story with what I have shot with and what I’m shooting now. I started out with a Seagull medium format camera which is the absolute worst idea i ever had! After that broke in a week, I got a Bronica ETRS and i loved working with the 15 frames i had and the vertical portrait format that came along with that camera. After THAT camera started to die I borrowed my friends Hasselblad 500C ( which most of the photographs on this blog are shot with) and i used that for about a year and a half until i just recently bought my own Hasselblad 503cx, which is the camera i mainly photograph with now. I exclusively shoot film. Never shoot anything digitally even though the prices of film are still going up :P I try and keep film alive through my work and I just love how Raw and unaltered my photographs are without the use of a digital camera. Not to say that film images can’t be as altered as digital ones. I just feel like it makes it harder for one to manipulate said images when using film. Oh! and I use a stock Hasselblad Lense. The 80mm F2.8 lense :) hope that answers your question and then some!

Been Busy……

Sorry about the lack of updates lately guys. Been dealing with my brother’s wedding for the past few days and working on multiple projects that i’m trying to get started. Along with being away in Washington D.C. for a few days for a Bachelor party. Needless to say havent been able to get to a computer and edit for a little bit. Noticed a drop in followers lol but ahhhh well not about how many followers i have as long as people look and appreciate my hard work. Photographs tonight i promise!
