“Simplastic” Osmyn Oree 2012 I love this image because it embodies everything i really like about how i photograph. It is simple but strong at the same time. It needs  no meaning, it is just an image that I just want the viewer to look at and not really criticize. I realize that some people may not take this as a  fashion image, but i feel like this is my own take on the genre.  The title reminds me of fashion images and the editing that is done to skin in those types of photographs. I combined the words simplistic and plastic for obvious reasons. I felt that “simplastic” summed up how i felt about the industry and the fashion world.I really dont like that everything needs to be perfect, because thats not how people are built but that’s what everyone wants to see. I always try to edit a models skin within reason. I never want their skin to look they are a doll. I want the person to be seen as they are. For some reason I have always felt like fashion images had to look a certain way or the editing has to be spot on and perfect, but now i know that’s not true. My goal is create a compelling image, and if it means doing the simplest things with clothing to make a fashion image, so be it. My standards lie within the quality of the image and not always with what the model might be wearing. I feel that this image is successful in its own way and i love it. I feel like this is a step towards something new and exciting :)
